For those of us who missed it, the speaker, Mike Dinn, was a British avionics engineer who migrated to Australia in 1960. He worked on aircraft flight testing at RAAF Laverton near Melbourne for five years, before landing a job as Deputy Station Director at the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex at Tidbinbilla, which tracked the Surveyor robotic lunar landers. Later he transferred to Honeysuckle Creek, which provided tracking for the manned Apollo landings.
