May 2026 Hamfests Galore
“The reports of my death were greatly exaggerated”* … who said ham radio was dying when a small city like Sydney can run 2 (TWO) hamfests on the same day and have armies of people attending, notwithstanding the fact that a group of keen amateurs were able to attend both of them. Was this done […]

The annual xmas BBQ ritual was held Sunday the 14 December 2025, a week earlier this year as otherwise it would be too close to xmas. At first some overnight rain and dire predictions from our BOM got us worried, but it turned out to be almost the perfect day with the mercury reaching 32C. […]

2023 Christmas Net
The 40m band was a bit cranky at 9am this morning, with thunderstorms to the southwest and north, so plenty of static about. A few stations popped up on the club’s 2m repeater as well. A couple of stations missed the RF sched, or were inaudible, but checked in via email afterwards. As an experiment, […]

Camzilla Strikes Again!
One of the joys of the Australian bushland (even in urban areas like Sydney) is the variety of wildlife to be found. We’ve reported before about various critters marauding about the club grounds. Well, it looks like “Camzilla”, one of our local goannas, has struck again (1-Dec-2023)! As one of the club wags put it: […]
