For the main HF station we have a 6 position antenna switch selecting: TH6 beam with rotator for 10-20m operations; 40m dipole, 80m dipole.
- A CODAN radio is connected to a 40m dipole, mainly used to contact our travelling members using SELCALL.
- A discone antenna is available on the patch panel for operating visiting <60Mhz radios.
- A 1Ghz 50 watts 50% duty dummy load is available on the patch panel.
- 2 Crystal locked radios monitor our 2m and 70cm repeaters.
A 4 channel headphone amplifier is mounted at the shack. It is typically plugged in the FT-1000 fixed monaural audio port at the back of the rig, which means the headphone level is not impacted by the speaker level. Each headphone have their own volume control, very useful to share audio when training, contesting or when the ambient room noise level is high. The FT-1000 stereo features are not available through the amplifier, if required, the headphone must be plugged directly into the front headphone port of the rig.
