Colin VK2JCC … rolling portable

Brian VK2AXC Dropped in just in time to see MWRS members signing onto the HARDARC Net 9am on 7.106MHz, Friday 22-May-2026. Colin VK2JCC (Professor Portable) chose a great venue, and it was filled with six participants spread around the park grounds in sunny conditions.

Brian left at 9:30 just as the rain drops started and Simon VK2YU turned up to take over observations of the crew.
Missed coffee with the POTA team but coincidently met up with schoolmate Ray VK2ILV for a coffee so overall a nice radio morning well spent.

POTA Participants:

  • Carmel VK2NO – G90 in the ammo box hooked up to a dipole supported by a squid pole.
  • Nick VK2FS – Icom 705 similarly hooked up to dipole supported by a squid pole.
  • Colin VK2JCC – fired up his trusty vintage Clansman similarly hooked up to a dipole.
  • Richard VK2ARH – G90 differing by hooking up to end fed antenna with a long RH8X feedline. Richard chose to use his slick TN07 Engineering 32ft telescopic mast rather than throw his chrome plated plumb bob over a branch and risk an entanglement!
  • Other POTA participants in the park having fun were Alan VK2KO and Graham VK2GTC.
