People are out and about again … or fcalls are now discovering the digital world.

iGates connected to the internet typically provide 2 types of coverage:

  • position packets heard directly;
  • position packets sent to aprs-is, typically digipeated by an internet deprived aprs receiver.

In October 2021, our vk2mb-2 2m iGate has sent a record 26,000 to aprs-is. the animation map below shows the coverage of vk2mb-2 iGate heard directly position packets, then the position packets sent to aprs-is. The coverage is extended too far north for the screen resolution, so an additional screen grab is included for the Coffs Harbour, Tamworth area.
