On the 10th August 2016, MWRS received a donation of APRS and voice radio equipment for our continued assistance with JOTA.  Glenn Satchell and Phil Donald from Scouts were present at our monthly business meeting to present the equipment to MWRS.

The donation consisted of an APRS transmitter and also a VHF/UHF mobile radio to be used for our Battleships game.  In previous years we have occasionally run a club member’s APRS transmitter on the Scout bus during the weekend, this allows us to track the arrival of the next group and the Scouts enjoy seeing where the bus is too.  This donation will allow us to make the APRS display a permanent JOTA fixture.
