We had a great weekend up at Barrenjoey, filled a few pages of the log book and ticked off a bunch of lighthouses. Richard NRA had some early success with his portable SOTA station while the rest of us battled high winds putting up the main station antennas. We got on air a bit late, but we were all sorted by the time our Patron arrived for a chat.

We operated 2 stations most of the weekend with the main one having access to 80/40/20/10m and spending most time on 40m followed by 80m, and Ray HJW had a QRP setup on the back verandah doing very well on 20m. Conditions were reasonable, not much DX but enough activity to keep us entertained.

We need to do a little work on the squidpole go-kit as it proved a little difficult to get going, but we had a second attempt in the late afternoon and succeeded.

Final count was 52 contacts and 24 lighthouses (a good effort to get so many lighthouses). Overall contacts were a bit less than last year since last year coincided with the RD contest and higher overall levels of activity.

Thanks all who made it up.
