The Easter/ANZAC Day long weekend was an ideal opportunity for a club mini-DXpedition.
This report from Tim VK2BT:
We had a great break camping at Coolah Tops over the break. The weather and the HF propagation were perfect! Many skeds on 7045 on 5W and even down 2.5W. Spoke with Andrew as he drove across Vic and SA; spoke with Greg as he drove home from Vic; Patrick near Yass, and many members in and around Sydney. Thanks to all members that we spoke to. And thanks to Horst for his Winmore Gateway allowing QRP email access.
Our party consisted of:
- Tim VK2BT
- Bruce VK2ZZM and XYL
- Owen VK2OL
- Robert VK2BYT and XYL
- Tom VK2FTMB
- Cameron VK2FDMC
- John VK2EKG and XYL
- Dom VK2JNA
- Chris VK2HX
Check out our track on APRS (look for VK2ZZM, and/or VK2OL-15)
Contact was made on 7045kHz with Jeff VK4XJJ, who is walking across Australia.
(Note: Bruce was using his Stingray into an inverted-V on 7m squid pole.)
