The night’s prize-winners, Russell VK2BYN and Colin VK2JCC

Severe storms over northern Sydney kept many people at home on Wednesday, so there were only a few items on display this time, but those who turned up still enjoyed the evening.

The theme for the night was radio scanners.

Goeff VK2TGO brought in some classics

Russell VK2BYN won the Best Story award for his tale about fireworks on the harbour, and the People’s Choice for best gear was Colin VK2JCC with his modern Icom IC-R30.

The oldest canner on show was a vintage GRE 10 channel scanner from the 1970s, which is programmed by a punch card.
