“Mullos”…

Veteran Radio and TV personality, and local boy from Dee Why here on the Northern Beaches, has unfortunately passed away this week, at the age of just 71.

Doug had an illustrious career, including being inducted into the Commercial Radio Hall of Fame in 2019. as detailed in the ABC news link at the end.

Although he was not a Radio Amateur, his radio show on Triple-M FM inspired the name of the Society’s (then) regular newsletter: Up the Stick! This was the catch-cry of one of the regular “callers” on his show, Jack Africa.

Jack was one of many quirky characters, such as Madame Zenda with her horoscopes and the Adventures of Bog Dan the Turnip Boy (and his girlfriend Danuta – half woman, half beetroot) among others… ah, good times!

Uh-oh, the Cuckoo kids, that means it’s time to go… Cop you later, Mullos…
