As you probably know already, the third Wednesday of every month is given over to a lecture, usually to a technical topic, something related to Amateur Radio, or some other subject of general interest.
Recently, the club decided to restore the old, but sporadic, tradition of recording lectures on video, for later viewing and to document some of the club’s activities. Now, in the era of the podcast, we have created our own YouTube channel, where you can catch up with lectures and other videos of life at the Society.
So far this year, we have had:
- January: Bernd Langer VK2IA/VK6AA on the 4W6A DXpedition to Timor-Leste. This was also one of the last chances to meet Bernd before his relocation to Broome in Western Australia.

- February: Former Sydney ferry master, Tom Hughes VK2HUZ, on restoring a classic wooden ship and sailing it to Tasmania.

- March: Packet Radio/APRS guru and all-round techno-geek, Darryl Smith VK2TDS, on how converted his normal suburban house into a 21st century Smart House. Darryl will be back later in the year to tell us how he built a kit plane and flew it to Perth.
