From a watch running on a micro button cell to your electric car, new or old, rechargeable or disposable batteries. Torches, tools, radios, heaters. Do you have some cool gear (radio or not) that is powered by battery? Roger VK2GHB displayed a very nice National Panasonic transistor radio in a perfect leather case that he’s had since new in 1967 and still has fabulous audio … and a story to tell including how he was able to keep the leader case in good condition.

We had many lighting devices, a repacked battery operated drill, a 56 year old battery operated AM/Short Wave radio with a story. Colin VK2JCC was the winner by vote with his QRP portable HF rig. Gary VK2CRJ wan the judge’s vote for his 1980 23cm ATV receiver with building CRT viewer.

We were also granted the visit of a past member, Jim VK2BVD who visited the club and was a very active member back in the 80-90’s, he’s been all over the world with his work for nearly 30 years but settled back in Canada in 2017.
