During a July 2023 family visit to Perth, VK2AXC ran a Morse Code Activity for his grandson’s Cub group.
VK2AXC’s son is also a new leader with the Greenwood WA Cub Scout Group hence the invite to help with an evening program.
By all accounts the Cubs had great fun, and got in some advance preparation for the upcoming Jamboree on the Air.
Post Script:
Some trouble encountered getting through the Sydney airport cabin baggage screening.
However, it was the not Arduino kit with the mass of jumper wires or the “jam tin” oscillators with exposed circuit board looked somewhat suspicious: it was the morse key picked up on the X-ray that the screeners did not recognise.
It was fun demonstrating the straight key to the staff who were somewhat amazed at the device.
Used dah-dit-dah-dit/dah-dah-dit-dah since SOS may not have been appropriate!
Cheers VK2AXC
