Goooooood Moooorning Berrima! Cold again this year. A contingent of 4 brave members spending the 3 days/night at the Berrima scout hall represented the MWRS fro the Trans-Tasman Low Band Contest. An addition 4 members came for a visit on Saturday. It was cold but luckily the fireplace and plenty of firewood helped survive the weekend.
VK TRANS-TASMAN CONTEST
VK Trans-Tasman contest on Saturday, 20th July 2024.
The contest is made up of 3 individual two-hour blocks.
You are able to work another station once per band and mode in every block. Every different Prefix used by VK or ZL stations is a valid multiplier and credit can be claimed once per band per block.

As usual, a casual Friday dinner at the local pub, followed by a Saturday morning/afternoon set-up in preparation for a 18h00-00:00 local time contest Saturday evening.

I just worked the blokes in Berrima on 40 m, fabulous signal from Greg’s 7610 and the club’s OCF antenna. The Trans Tasman contest starts at 6.00 pm E.S.T. tonight until midnight on 160, 80 and 40m so give them a call if you get a chance. They should have lots of fun and do well tonight, good luck. 73

Kara went back to Bowral with Declan and Matt his carer. They stayed over there because of bathroom access at the hall.

Balun for the 80m OCF has been rebuilt since John Moyle Field day and working perfectly. Before the contest I tested transmit and receive on some DX contacts on 20m, 12m and 10m. Yes 12m. A commemorative station for the King of Thailand’s birthday.
