For this month’s lecture, on 17 January 2024, Clifford VK2CLF speaks on the topic, Using LTSpice to Simulate Oscillators and Filters.

LTSpice (also known as SwitcherCAD) is software provided free by Analog Devices which has a competent version of the Spice simulation engine behind an easy-to-use interface that allows drawing and simulating almost any kind of circuit.

LTSPice includes models for most common parts, as well as the switch-mode power supply chips made by Analog (and previously Linear Technology), and with the ability to install arbitrary Spice device models can simulate almost any RF circuit, and perform multiple different kinds of analysis, including FFT spectrum analysis. LTSpice is available for Windows, Mac or Linux.

The lecture is available on the club YouTube channel, VK2MB-TV.
