There’s more to this subject than we’d imagined with national and world competitions requiring enormous fitness and skill at the highest level … and a fox! Clifford Heath told us all about it. Check it out on VK2MB TV!
Message from Clifford:
I hope you enjoyed the evening. Thanks for the opportunity to tell you
about ARDF sport. I gather that video was taken, so at some time it
will appear on <https://www.youtube.com/user/VK2MB/>. Meanwhile
here is one VK5 competitor’s description of his recent experience at
Mt Gambier: <http://www.areg.org.au/archives/207219>.
I know I spoke with quite a few people afterwards, some of whom
wanted to make contact for advice on further activities. None of them
has yet contacted me – so please do!
Another project I’m working on is a network analyser (scalar/network/
spectrum) using an AD9959 quad DDS board, which is soon to arrive.
This group is starting to discuss architecture on a Google groups mailing
list at <https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/vk2specan>. Also in the
group is David Beard, who has a 25-year old patent and long experience
in DDS and this kind of RF design, and he’s keen to extend the scope
of the project (and is a great resource too). It seems we may be able to
extend useful performance beyond 1GHz without too much trouble.
Finally, anyone involved in design might find my impedance nomograph
useful. It’s here, adjacent to some other projects I’ve published:
I also tend to publish code (including my C++ and AD9851 work) at
Ok, out for now. Glad to be a new member of MWRS.
